My 4 year old daughter and I were fleeing a domestic violence situation and we literally up and left everything we had behind in an instant. We fled to Bremerton, WA and one of the other women in the place we were staying told me about the NW Hospitality and program and gave me the information. We were desperate with seemingly nowhere to turn and Anton met me where we were staying and handed me a card and over the course of the past year has helped me periodically with assistance for gas, school supplies and clothing for my child, money to repair my vehicle so I was able to get a job and have reliable transportation and money to provide a safe roof over our head when we had nowhere else to go for the night! This program has literally been a Godsend and I hope that it continues! I pray I'll be able to be one to donate and give back to this program soon so I can give back to a program that gave me the ability to change my life and the life of my daughter forever! We now live in Texas and I have an amazing job and we live in a beautiful home with safety and stability that I'm not sure would have been possible without having the help from NWH when we needed it most!
I'm forever grateful!
Northwest Hospitality provided the means to keep my car going when I absolutely could not afford to do it myself. I spent 8 months in my car on the street, and another 8 months in a homeless shelter program. Due to my disability and an incident where I was the victim of a crime, I was not working at that time, only receiving SSI, so I didn’t have extra money. I will be eternally grateful to Northwest Hospitality. Without this agency’s assistance with my car, I would not have been able to make it to doctor appointments and meet my obligations. Even now that I’m working again and was finally able to move in to a new place, I couldn’t have done any of this without a vehicle because I still rely on it to get to and from work and the grocery store. A heartfelt thank you to Northwest Hospitality for helping me without giving me a hard time. The process for receiving help was straightforward and simple. In a situation where I was already mentally and physically depleted it was crucial to not have a difficult time requesting services. Also, at a time where I felt helpless and alone, with exception of my grandmother and the shelter, having a helping hand was a major boost for my morale and made me want to keep pushing forward when it would have been so much easier to give up. Your impact in my life has been meaningful, and moving.
A forever thank you!
NWH helped me with a bus pass when I had nothing, and was just starting my recovery from a very tragic period in my life. It meant a lot to have access to travel the county and do what was necessary to rebuild my life. Today, I have stable housing, two full-time jobs - one in healthcare for Washington State - and I am now able to take on opportunities to be helpful to other struggling people. It seems like such a small thing, that month of unlimited county bus access, but it made a big difference in my life at a time when I desperately needed it. Thank you very much for being who you are and doing what you do.
Being rendered homeless after fleeing from child traffickers was something I never thought I would have to face. Living in my car with 2 big dogs, doing door dash to survive while looking for work, going to interviews and relying on my vehicle for shelter, employment, and a small sense of security, my brakes failed. Driving with only the emergency brake was unsafe to say the least. I was referred to Northwest hospitality. Asking for help was one of the most difficult tasks ever. The people at Northwest hospitality made the process of getting my brakes fixed easy. The funds NWH provided got my brakes repaired and allowed me to continue my journey to a great job as a chef. I was able to buy a nice travel trailer in a beautiful place. The generosity of Northwest Hospitality changed my life from homelessness and despair to a bright, secure and peaceful future. My gratitude knows no bounds!
I would like to share an experience with NWH for one of my clients in need. This young mother, with 2 children needed help moving from her apartment to a more affordable one. Our program did not provide any assistance with moving services, so I gave her NWH’s contact. NWH was able to assist her with moving her belongings (to storage I believe) and then again when she was actually moving into her apartment. The service they provided helped when she had no other resources and will always be valued and appreciated.
