Benefit Live Music!!!

Each year, during our fundraising benefit, we invite local musicians to perform and this year is no different! We will have Nick Droz and The Sky Colony Duo joining us this time around and we couldn’t be more excited! Each group has their own mellow, acoustic sound with hints of rock, psychedelic, and pop in the mix.

Nick Droz

A rock, folk, pop, twang experience. Nick Droz puts on a fantastic live show featuring an earnest performance and skilled musicianship. Nick spent a decade in Austin, TX honing his craft before moving to Seattle in early 2015. Since relocating to the Northwest, Nick has written and performed a slew of songs for commissions from organizations like Bushwick Book Club (Seattle), Hugo House (Literary Series), Seattle Arts and Lectures, and the 1448 Projects. Through Bushwick Northwest, he also participated in songwriting collaborations with authors from both the Jack Straw Writers program, and Seattle7Writers. Nick has been working on a new full length album that will come out later this year. You can enjoy some of his earlier work on his website: www.nickdroz.com

The Sky Colony (Duo)

We are ecstatic to have the leading musicians of Skagit Valley’s the Sky Colony joining us this year! The Sky Colony's songs are a simple blend of melodies and complex harmonies. “It’s a mixture of the call of the Cascadian wilderness and the 60's psychedelia era” (Tom Franks, Folkwords UK). Time upon time it has been deemed unique. They create a sound of "luminous spirituality that sets a fire in the mind" (Scot Casey, What’s Up Magazine). Their first full-length album "In A Dream" was released in February, 2015 and in August of this year they released their latest piece of artwork, “All of Us”. Singer-songwriter and guitarist Kyle Findley-Meier, and lead guitarist Ben Meyer are sure to be a hit at this year’s benefit! Hear their music ahead of time here: www.theskycolonymusic.com
