June 2023 Newsletter

Northwest Hospitality serves our unhoused neighbors in a variety of ways through several unique programs. This month, we are highlighting the Mobile Supply Closet.

What is the mobile supply closet?
The mobile supply closet is a trailer full of clothing and other supplies that are freely given to people who need them. The closet travels around providing opportunities for people in need to look through the items and select what they need.

Where does the supply closet go?
Wherever it is needed! The Mobile Supply Closet seeks to meet people where they are at.

The mobile supply closet, along with Northwest Hospitality volunteers, regularly visits the Kitsap Recovery Center to provide clothes and supplies to inpatient folks that often arrive there with nothing. The closet also drives around to encampments where unhoused people are living, and serves very low-income people in our community by meeting them where they are.

Where do you get all the inventory for the closet?
Most of our clothing comes to us through community donations. The closet also requires some monetary donations to keep the Mobile Supply Closet stocked with sizes and items that aren’t typically donated (belts, shoes, underwear, deodorant, soaps, toothpaste, etc.).

How can I support the mobile supply closet?
We are almost always in need of men’s sizes (t-shirts & pants), *new* underwear/boxers, belts, and certain hygiene items. If you have clothing or other items you would like to donate to the Mobile Supply Closet, please contact us to find out what our current needs are.

How do I access the Mobile Supply Closet?
If you or someone you know is in need of supplies, you can request items from the Closet by filling out this online form. Typically, one of our volunteers will be able to bring the items to you.
NWH is also open to partnering with other mutuals aid group. If you work with folks that are unhoused or in need of supplies, and think that the Mobile Supply Closet coming to your location would benefit folks, please let us know!
